Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of singers Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, passed away on Sunday, nearly six months after she suffered irreversible brain damage. She was 22.
Her family in a statement confirmed the news on Whitney Houston's Facebook page and also posted a photo of her with her mother.
"It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers. As Bobbi Kristina would say: "The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face," the post read.
In January, Bobbi's partner Nick Gordon found her unresponsive in a bathtub at her home, and was being kept on life support since then. In June, she was shifted to Hospice Care after her condition deteriorated.
Bobbi Kristina was the only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Houston describing Bobbi's birth told Rolling Stone magazine in 1993: "I haven't experienced anything greater."
Houston and Bobbi were very close to each other. In 2003, Houston and Bobbi recorded a duet of "Little Drummer Boy" for a holiday album, and in 2009 they performed together in ABC's "Good Morning America".
Bobbi also appeared with her father on his reality TV show, "Being Bobby Brown."
After her death, several celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Taraji P. Henson among others paid tribute to Bobbi.
