Liverpool have been one of the most consistent teams in the English Premier League in 2015 and today's game at Anfield against Manchester United is their biggest game of the season.

Irrespective of the trophy and the venue, Liverpool-Manchester United clash have always been keenly awaited, but this game at Reds' home-ground is even more important with both the teams fighting it out for a spot in the Champions League.

Manchester United are more than determined to get back to Champions League football next season, which they missed this season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool would be eager to clinch the CL spot, for they would want to prove themselves next season at the European stage after their embarrassing exit from the group stages this season.

There is not much to choose between the two teams where Liverpool have won their last five matches in the league, while United have been decent with four wins and a single loss against Swansea.

The race for the Champions League spot is getting increasingly interesting with Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool in contention.

Hence this game could be pivotal for the CL race, as a victory for United would take them one point behind Arsenal and gap between Liverpool and United would be stretched to five points, which could be a huge gap, considering the number of games left to play as well.

Liverpool have been playing some good football of late, but started their campaign badly. Brendan Rodgers deserves some credit for the way he made his players click with some changes in strategy as well.

"We've found solutions to issues we had at the beginning of the season but there is still a lot of work to do," EPL official website quoted Rodgers as saying. "[The players are] very comfortable in the way of working. We showed a different side [in a 1-0 win] against Swansea on Monday and came through.

United may not have a great season, but they have been in the top bracket and have hung in that position, they might have scrapped through in some matches.

"They've been up there all season, and they will want to stay up there. I don't worry about them clicking," he added.

Manchester United would be travelling to Anfield full of confidence, especially the way they thrashed Tottenham Hotspur, where they dominated the game with the score reading 3-0.

However, Rodgers stated that Anfield is a different game: "They had a good result versus Spurs [United won 3-0 last Sunday], but Anfield is a different game."

Though, it remains to be seen if Rodgers starts with Liverpool's influential skipper Steven Gerrard for this huge clash, who came off the bench against Swansea.

Liverpool do not have major injury concerns as compared to the Red Devils who are expected to be without the services of Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo.
