Deepika Padukone was to star in "Fast and Furious 7" but the leading lady had to go of the opportunity then.

Since she was working with Shah Rukh Khan on "Happy New Year", it became practically impossible for her to accommodate dates for the international project.

However, she has now reportedly signed Vin Diesel's "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" and a Bollywood Life source revealed how the star sealed the deal.

Apparently, after she let the offer go of starring in the action film, Vin told her they would soon collaborate and that his agent will be in touch with her.

"But Vin personally told her not to worry and that they would soon collaborate in the near future. They had discussed the XXX film at that point and Diesel's agent stayed in touch with the actress and signed her for XXX: The return of Xander Cage," the insider told the web portal.

Also, after wrapping up "Tamasha" success party, Deepika jetted off to America to meet the Hollywood star, and that's where that mysterious picture is from.

"No wonder, Ranveer Singh is still promoting his next release alone! But who knew Deepika would surprise everybody with this photograph! It is a big achievement for her and she is finishing all formalities in America," added the source.

Priyanka Chopra, who is on every American billboard, could give her "Bajirao Mastani" co-star a tip or two on how to make it big in the west.

In other news, she isn't the first Bollywood star to have landed an English film. Irrfan Khan, Anil Kapoor and Ali Fazal have recently starred in blockbusters.
