In spite of innovative movie promotions, Arjun Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha starrer "Tevar", the first big budget film to release in 2015 failed to make a mark at the box office. Bipasha Basu-Karan Singh Grover's "Alone", Sonam Kapoor's "Dolly Ki Doli", Gurmeet Choudhary's "Khamoshiyan" also followed the league with some average to dud performances.

It was Akshay Kumar starrer "Baby", which became the first hit film of the year grossing ₹82.53 crore at the Indian box office by the end of its second week.

"#Baby [Week 2] Fri 2.85 cr, Sat 3.99 cr, Sun 5.81 cr, Mon 2.20 cr, Tue 1.92 cr, Wed 1.94 cr. Grand total: ₹ 82.53 cr," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Thursday.

While Aamir Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer "PK" ruled the box office in 2014 by grossing more than ₹339.50, Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Happy New Year", Salman Khan's "Kick", Hrithik Roshan's "Bang Bang", Ajay Devgn's "Singham Returns", Sidharth Malhotra's "Ek Villian", Akshay Kumar's "Holiday" and Arjun Kapoor's "2 States" also entered the elite ₹100-crore club.

Though 2015 started with some flops, the upcoming Bollywood releases look set to enthral the audience this year.
