The announcement comes as a pleasant surprise for users who had been demanding the web version of Jio TV for quite some time now. Reliance Jio users can now access all the content and live TV channels which are available in JioTV app on their laptop/desktop by heading over to hhtps://jiotv.com/ on any browser.

Also, the web interface is quite similar to the interface of the JioTV app for Android smartphones, with channels being displayed in a line-based interface. Users can also toggle between SD and HD channels and watch content from the previous seven days, which is known as 'Catch-Up TV.'

In order to watch the content on the web version, users need to log in with their Jio account credentials (i.e. Jio account number and password). The same applies to JioCinema web version as well. However, only users with a Jio 4G SIM card can watch the content. You can log in with your Jio account by heading over to the account section present at the top right corner. As of now, the service is completely free for all Jio users and now these channels can also be streamed on a broadband connection, as long as the user has a Jio ID to log in.

The web version of JioTV has the content in same categories- Entertainment, Movies, Kids, Sports, Lifestyle, Infotainment, Religious, News, Music, Regional, Devotional, Business News, and in same languages too- Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali, English, Malayalam, Tamil, Gujarati, Odia, Telugu, Bhojpuri, Kannada, Assamese, Nepali, French.

With over 550 Live TV channels, Reliance JioTV is currently the leading live TV service when compared to rival content providers such as Airtel TV, Vodafone Play, and Idea Movies and TV. It currently offers as many as 174 news channels, 106 entertainment channels, 44 movie channels, 41 devotional channels, 40 music channels, 34 infotainment channels, 26 kids' channels, 21 sports channels, 14 lifestyle channels and 8 business news channels. As of now, the service is completely free for all Jio users and now these channels can also be streamed on a broadband connection, as long as the user has a Jio ID to log in.

With this move, Reliance Jio is allowing its customers to watch online content anywhere. Also, users can access the website in any mobile browser as well. This essentially removes the hassle of downloading the application to watch the content.
