The most-anticipated movie of Vijay, "Puli", has been in the news for quite some time. It has been touted as the biggest film of Vijay's career as latest reports suggest that "Puli" belongs to the ₹100 crore club when it comes to the making budget.

According to Behindwoods, the movie is made with a whopping budget of ₹118 Crore and the team is currently shooting in Thalakonam. The "Puli" team has been shooting for 115 days and will reportedly wrap up in 40 days.

Earlier reports stated that the makers of the flick had set aside ₹5 Crore for the intro song alone.

"The lavish set that was erected to shoot Vijay's introduction song costs over ₹ 5 crore ( ₹ 50 million). The team recently completed shooting the song in Talakona forest near Tirupathi. Over 200 carpenters worked on the construction of the set, which took over two months to complete," a source from the film's unit told IANS.

"Puli", written and directed by Chimbu Devan, is being touted as an action fantasy and Vijay will be seen in dual role, as an artist and a warrior. Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani will play the lead opposite "Ilayathalapathy".

The movie will also mark the return of yesteryear actress Sridevi Kapoor to Tamil cinema. The actress will play the role of a queen and Hansika's mother. Sridevi's last Tamil movie was "Naan Adimai Illai" (1986) and her Tamil fans are expecting her to make a marvellous comeback with the Vijay starrer.

The movie also has an impressive starcast, which includes Prabhu, Sudeep, Vijayakumar, Thambi Ramaiah, Aadukalam Naren, Joe Malloori, Ajay Rathnam, Sathya, Karunas, Imman Annachi, Robo Shankar, Vidhyulekha Raman, and Jasper.
