Italian two-wheeler and compact commercial vehicle maker Piaggio is all set to expand its portfolio by adding new two-wheelers to its Vespa, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi brands. The company recently launched its second Motoplex showroom in Hyderabad, after Pune, that will sell motorcycles of the three brands.

Under the Aprillia brand, the company will launch the SR 150 scooter, reported the BusinessLine. The scooter was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016. The SR 150 scooter will be built at the Piaggio plant at Baramati, Maharashtra. It is expected to be powered by a 150cc engine that will develop 11.5bhp and 11.5Nm of torque.

The Moto Guzzi brand will add V9 Roamer and V9 Bobber motorcycles soon. According to a report in Zigwheels, Moto Guzzi already started accepting booking for both the motorcycles for a down payment of Rs. 5 lakh. The deliveries are expected to start within two months. Both the motorcycles are powered by an all-new 850cc transverse V-twin air- and oil-cooled engine that produces 54bhp of power and a peak torque of 62Nm mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The Vespa range is expected to be increased with the launch of the 946, GTS 300 by the end of the year. Both the motorcycles will be launched as CBU units and will command premium pricing compared to the current models of Vespa. The 946 boast of LED headlamp, while the taillight gets LCD instrumentation cluster. The India-spec model is expected to be powered by a fuel injected 150cc engine. The GTS 300, on the other hand, is the most powerful scooter from Vespa. The 946 is powered by a 278cc, single-cylinder engine developing 21bhp and 22.3Nm of torque.
