Mahendra Singh Dhoni may be past his prime, but the man has done enough to carve a special name for himself in Indian cricket. He continues to dominate headlines, draw fans, and be the superstar he always was.

Dhoni, the CSK captain, has over the years become a brand which refuses to stop selling. Chennai Super Kings has perhaps the most ardent fans the world over and a proof of the same surfaced when a fan had an 'MS Dhoni number plate' on his car.

Chennai Super Kings took note of this particular development and were left amazed by the reach of the Dhoni. "Aaah, so the legendary Soppanasundhari is now in LA!" they tweeted out.

The 37-year-old Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings to three IPL titles. He also helped the outfit clinch two Champions League T20 titles -- 2010, 2014.

Dhoni will continue leading Chennai in the upcoming edition of the T20 league. In the recently-concluded auctions, CSK acquired the services of Mohit Sharma and Ruturaj Gaekwad.

Dhoni has not been in the best of forms with the Indian team in the recent past and has drawn a lot of criticism for his lacklustre batting. Despite his form with the bat, he has received the backing of the Indian support staff and captain Virat Kohli. The wicketkeeper-batsman remains one of the more critical members of the side leading into the 2019 World Cup.

"There is no question. Because apart from the fact that he has got the experience, he is so useful to Virat Kohli," former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar said when he was asked if Dhoni should be a part of the 50-overs squad for the World Cup.

"All the little things he does from behind, telling the bowlers where to bowl to which batsmen, making those slight adjustments to the field, that leaves Virat free to think of bowling changes or to think ahead," Gavaskar added.
