Motorola's latest devices--Moto X Play and Moto X Pure Edition (known as Moto X Style outside USA) --will reportedly get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update soon after their release.

According to Neuro Gadget, Moto X Play and Moto X Pure Edition that currently run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update soon after their official release.

Google's new software Android 6.0 Marshmallow should come with the upcoming LG Nexus 5 (2015) aka Nexus 5X, which is expected to be announced on 29 September.

The report of Android 6.0 Marshmallow coming to Moto X Play and Moto X Pure Edition sooner than expected came after rumors that the devices along with Moto X (2014), Droid Turbo, Moto G (2nd Gen), Moto G (3rd Gen) will receive the firmware by the end of December 2015 or early 2016.

Moto X Pure Edition (Moto X Style) is currently available for pre-orders in the US with price starting at $399.99 and it can be booked on Motorola website.

The device sports a 5.7-inch QHD TFT LCD touchscreen with 1440x2560 pixels (520ppi pixel density), powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It also has 16/32/64GB internal memory expandable up to 128 GB, 3 GB RAM, 21MP main camera, 5MP secondary snapper and 3,000mAh battery under the hoods.

On the other hand, Motorola is yet to announce whether it will release Moto X Play in the US. Phandroid has reported that Moto X Play could be launched as Motorola DROID Maxx 2 for Verizon Wireless later this year with a price tag of $300 but it is not confirmed as of now.
