Prashanth Neel's KGF has become the pride of Sandalwood as it has got appreciation from the pan-Indian audience. Cutting cross language barriers, people have watched the movie, originally made in Kannada, and won rave reviews for the content, performance and technical excellence in the Yash and Srinidhi Shetty-starrer.

To begin with Karnataka, KGF was released in 350 screens and registered almost cent percent occupancy rates in theatres in Bengaluru, Mysuru and a few other centres. Such reception helped the flick to mint Rs 14 crore (gross) in the first day. The Christmas holiday season helped the flick big time to pull the audience to theatres and the period drama ended its first week by raking in a share of Rs 28.5 crore.

By the end of 11 days, the distributors'share is estimated to be around Rs 33 crore.

The next big centre for the movie is the Hindi belt. Despite facing competition from Zero and now Simmba, KGF has grossed about Rs 36.1 crore in 11 days. Although the numbers might look lesser by the Bollywood standards, it is a huge achievement for a Sandalwood as it is the first Kannada film to have a simultaneous release in Bollywood and do so much of collection.

The Kannada and Hindi markets have contributed big numbers in KGF success. In the Telugu market, the Prashanth Neel-directorial has grossed over Rs 10 crore from Andhra and Telangana.

In the first week, KGF had done negligible business in Tamil and Kerala. However, the business has seen some improvement in the second weekend for the Yash's film in Tamil Nadu.

Overseas
KGF has made a record breaking business in the US. In 10 days (including premieres), the action thriller has raked in over $668,000. The film has got a decent start in the Gulf and other regions.
