CD Projekt RED's The Witcher 3 is easily one of most talked about gaming titles of the year (and the one before), and the title will surely attract players who haven't had the opportunity to play the previous Witcher games.
However, there are hardcore Witcher fans who will want to attempt a seamless transition from the previous Witcher game to the new one. However, there is a chance that when you start off the new game, you will only be given the option to "Simulate Witcher 2 Save."
Unfortunately, if that's the scene, it probably means that your previous save games are either not in their place, or have been somehow relocated to a different location. In case you didn't know, The Witcher 3 expects you to save your games live in ":Users[username]My DocumentsWitcher 2gamesaves".
However, if you've enabled Steam's Cloud Saving in the recent past, it's guaranteed that your saves will be in a different location. But there's a fix to this entire fiasco that Witcher 3 fans will want to apply to their game as soon as possible.
To fix the aforementioned problem and allow the new Witcher 3 to find your saves, you'll just need to find the right location and move them to the directory that the game expects you to place it.
The saves to the game will probably be located in ":Program Files(x86)Steamuserdata[userid]20920remote". Just copy the files to ":Users[username]My DocumentsWitcher 2gamesaves" and you should be able to come across the proper option to import a Witcher 2 save, when starting a new game in The Witcher 3.
