Madipalli Roop Aurona, who hails from Nalgonda district in Andhra Pradesh is just eight years old, but he fulfilled his wish to become the commissioner of police. However, it was only for a day.

The dream of the boy, who suffers from Thalassemia (a blood disorder) and is compelled to undergo blood transfusions every 20-25 days, was fulfilled by the NGO Make A Wish and the CP of Hyderabad on Tuesday, 15 December.

After becoming the Commissioner of Hyderabad, Roop signed some official files, including some pending leaves of officers, as part of his one-day job along with Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy.

Roop, the son of Ranjitha and Vikram, also addressed the media on his wish to curb the crime rate in Hyderabad.

"I want to maintain Hyderabad city. I want to control law and order. I also want to reduce crime and control chain-snatching," the eight-year-old told mediapersons.

"These kind of things are very helpful and change the lives of people and inspire them. We welcome such activities and will take more such activities in the future," said Reddy.

In October 2014, another boy named Sadiq had his dream of becoming a commissioner for a day come true thanks to Reddy and the Make A Wish Foundation.
